Pellon Dress

Growing up I had a lot of free time on my hand. So I spent a lot of my time doing lots of little arts and crafts projects. I played around with paper a lot and now that I'm older I'm not able to do as much of these arts and crafts projects but its nice to infuse them into stuff I do now. So here is my version of an origami fold called the "Magic Ball" made into a dress. The dress is made from pellon fabric which can be folded like paper and holds its shape. The skirt is held together with an elastic band at the waist and strands of yarn pulling the bottom of the dress up from the inside to give it that bubble effect. The bandeau top is free formed from a bunch of random folds I made on a strip of pellon. And over all I had a great time creating this dress. It was fun free forming and seeing what Is would come up with and it was a lot of fun being flashed back to my childhood constructing this dress. Hope you enjoy it as much I do, until next time....

All Black Everythang

A girls night out always calls for an all black outfit. In this particular outfit I needed to wear something that could go for a casual-ish workday and a somewhat fancier night. Im wearing a plain black halter crop top I "borrowed" from a friend lol. A black maxi skirt from H&M with gold details on the draw strings (good for pigging out at dinner) The best features of this skirt you ask? It has POCKETS, wow! Anywayssss my awesome hat is from Forever 21, I basically dressed from the hat down because of how much I love it. And last but not least my sandals are from Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse.
Hope you like this outfit, Because I know I loved it. Hope to be posting a lot more soon, I'm working on making a sewing series of videos soon so keep your heads up for that. But until then....

Shining Through

Statement pieces are always a simple solution to making an outfit. For months I have been on the look to find a pairs of silver shoes. And after a lot of indecision I have finally found the perfect pair, a pair of metallic silver pointed flats <3 Coincidentally they match this silver Marc by Marc duffle bag soooooo might as well throw that in the picture and pose as "casually" as possible lol. Until next time...

Finished Gem

A couple months back I posted a post about a partially done garment I was working on. So its only right that I post a picture of the final product. The dress was inspired by cut gem stones hence the piecing together of different fabrics to replicate the effects of lights shining through a jewel. I had a lot of fun putting this dress together even with the time constraint. I hope to be able to make more stuff like this in the future and you bet I'm gonna be posting it on this blog when I do. Until then...

Night with Dior and I

So recently I got to watch the documentary Dior and I. It was really inspiring to watch Dior's new artistic director, Raf Simon create a whole line from scratch in the span of only 8 weeks. It really shows that if you put your mind and effort into something, you can make the impossible possible.
The night that I watched the documentary, I watched it with one of my closest friends, Virginia and Julian. We decided that we all wanted to make this night special and have some fun with our outfits while also looking causal. Coincidently Virginia and I both decided on a white top, jeans, and some statement heels. Its the signature casual/dressy outfit. My white top is from H&M, it has a very cool striped detail on the neck band and sleeves. Its a simple detail that can transforms a plain white t-shirt. My skinny roll up jeans are from Gap. And my favorite pieces, my killer heels are from Rainbows. With the high platforms and the thick chunky heel these shoes look deadly but are anything but. I also got a new book bag from eBay, it's a really cool unique shape and can actually hold a lot of stuff. My whole outfit was functional yet stylish. And I definitely want to find another opportunity to wear those killer heels again soon.

You can almost smell the spring in the air!!!!!

Dear Mother Nature, Let it Go.

Hey guys, Jelly here!
Winter is making another surprising comeback and it gives us one last chance to wear our oversized winter cloths and cozy it up. Since I'm in a bit of denial with this hot and cold weather, I mixed up my outfit with a light lacy tank top from Forever21 and an oversized grey knit sweater from H&M. For pants I wore some comfy light wash denim skinny jeans, and protected my feet with a pair of gray Haggle boots by Steve Madden. Overall, I hope y'all stay warm in this brisk weather.
